Exhibited in Class Act curated by Lisa Bryan-Brown at Outerspace ARI.
Chain-linking is a participatory installation work, where viewers are invited to follow along with an instruction slip to add clay links to an existing clay chain, with the aim to make as long a chain as possible with over the duration of the exhibition.
This work engaged with ideas of artistic labor and the durational experience of this. A sculpture much larger than that the artist could make was made with the engagement of the community, with ideas of skill-sharing and communal goals present.
